The State Liquor Authority has posted answers to many of the questions being asked about the new outdoor dining rules. These FAQs help explain the rules for outdoor dining and address issues not covered in the written guidance.
The Authority also reported that spot checks at licensed premises since outdoor dining began this week demonstrated a great divergence in compliance. The SLA has suspended dozens of licenses for not complying with the shut down restrictions. Given the State’s concern about spreading COVID-19, if these spot checks continue to show non-compliance, we can expect an enforcement crackdown.
Compliance with the restrictions is also consistent with your business objectives. By preventing the spread of the virus we are also contributing to keeping the economy open. An increase in the spread of COVID-19 could slow the reopening, or worse, put us in retreat.
