Updated Guidance Allows Live Music

The State Liquor Authority’s updated FAQs no longer prohibits live music in outdoor areas of licensed premises. According to our discussion with the SLA “Our direction is that live music is permissible so long as allowed specifically by the license and all other guidance is followed.”

In order to have live music under this guidance, your approved Method of Operation filed with the Liquor Authority must include the use of live music, you need to comply with any local laws and ordinances regarding the use of live music, and you have to follow with the rules established for indoor or outdoor dining. You can apply to the SLA to update your Method of Operation if you are not currently approved for its use.
