New York City Begins Phase 2 – New Outdoor Dining Rules Announced

As New York City enters Phase 2 of its reopening, the restaurant industry is starting back up. Nearly 3,200 restaurants qualified and are reopening for outdoor dining under the NYC Open Restaurants program.

In addition, the NYC Department of Health released guidelines on dining out safely. It’s noted in the document that restaurants will screen staff for the coronavirus before shifts, make sure staff wear a face covering, keep tables six feet apart, promote physical distancing where lines may form, have hand sanitizer where there’s customer interaction, and increase cleaning of surfaces like faucets and counters.
