Just in time for prom and graduation season, the New York State Liquor Authority and the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (Responsibility.org) have teamed up to launch a state-wide campaign to curb underage drinking in New York. The campaign is supported by Responsibility.org member companies, the New York State Liquor Stores Association, the Empire State Restaurant & Tavern Association, and the Metropolitan Package Store Association. Point of sale materials will be distributed toward the end of April by Empire Merchants North or Southern Wine & Spirits. More than 15,000 display items, in Spanish and English, will be provided across the state. The materials send a firm message that underage drinkers need legal identification to purchase alcohol and that underage drinking will not be tolerated in New York. The “No Excuses” campaign will kick off in early May, with launch events hosted by retailers in Albany, Buffalo, New York City and Rochester.
