Leveraging Your Strengths In Today's Economy

The American Beverage Licensees (ABL) has announced its 7th Annual Convention is set to take place March 1-3, 2009 at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The convention’s theme, “Leveraging Your Strengths in Today’s Economy”, highlights the challenges that many alcohol beverage retailers face in light of the increased costs associated with running a business in today’s economic climate. The convention’s program will be tailored to that theme with the goal of providing retailers with ideas and tools to survive and grow when the price of everything seems to be going up.

“The 2009 ABL Convention will celebrate the retail tier of the alcohol beverage industry and present ways in which retailers can run more efficient and profitable businesses without losing sight of the important role they play when it comes best practices and responsibility,” said ABL executive director Harry Wiles.

With the newly remodeled Monte Carlo as the backdrop, ABL Convention guests will engage in informative presentations with speakers & alcohol beverage industry executives from the beer, wine and spirits sectors. The convention will also include educational seminars covering industry trends and ways to increase profits, as well as social events, including admission to the Nightclub & Bar Trade Show exhibit hall floor on both March 3rd and 4th.

Back by popular demand for 2009 is the Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament, which, for the 5th consecutive year, will pit friends and colleagues against one another in a match of poker skills.Once again, there will be cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and an open bar.In addition to Texas Hold ‘Em, ABL plans to announce a host of other events and speakers in the coming weeks.

The ABL Convention remains the best and most affordable way for beverage retailers to take in everything that Las Vegas has to offer. For the $250 registration fee, ABL members will be able to enjoy a variety of hospitality events all in the company of their industry colleagues and friends.Hotel rooms at the Monte Carlo will also be discounted for convention attendees.On-premise retailers (bar, tavern, restaurant and casino owners), off-premise retailers (liquor and package stores owners) and alcohol beverage industry executives and associates are encouraged to attend.

Fill out and mail in the 2009 ABL Convention registration form (available online or call to have a form sent to you) to secure your room and registration today and please visit ABL’s home on the web at www.ablusa.org for more details.
